On Tuesday, the 22nd of February 2011 at 12.51 p.m. the beautiful city of Christchurch on New Zealand’s south island was rocked by a magnitude 6.3 earthquake, in turn injuring several thousands, damaging the CBD extensively and tragically killing 185 people going about their daily life. Even though seismic activity is not quite as bad in Christchurch as for the rest of New Zealand they are still a regular occurrence for the town, in fact the February 2011 earthquake was actually classified as an aftershock of a stronger quake (7.1 magnitude), which occurred nearly 6 months prior on the 4th of September 2010 …
